Hordus, Son of Farin, is one of the last surviving members of the once-proud Kilthdûûm Clan, whose ancestral fortress, Dorob Kilthdûûm, fell to the Orcs of the Flayed Skull more than eighty years ago. Having fought in its final defense, Hordus carries the scars of that loss to this day, haunted by memories of fallen kin and the home his people were forced to abandon. Though years have tempered his grief, he still struggles with the darkness and finds comfort in the glow of candlelight. Now a wanderer throughout the Gran March, Hordus lives a largely solitary life, offering aid where he can while enjoying simple pleasures such as wood carving, pipe smoking, and the occasional drink. Gruff yet approachable, he harbors a deep hatred for orcs and remains driven by a lifelong dream: to one day reclaim Dorob Kilthdûûm and restore honor to the scattered remnants of his clan.

Elora Dawn's story begins with her awakening in a muddy ditch beside a destroyed caravan near the settlement of Hochoch, with no memory of who she was or what had happened. Surrounded by the dead and unable to recognize any of them, she discovered only a name engraved on her coin pouch and a lingering certainty that she was a priestess of the goddess Wee Jas. While recovering in Hochoch, Elora found a journal she had begun shortly before the attack, allowing her to piece together her personality and beliefs. Intelligent, logical, outspoken, and fiercely loyal, she strives to serve her goddess while concealing deep insecurities beneath a confident exterior. With a love of nature, a fascination with life and death, and a desire to spread the faith of Wee Jas, Elora has since set out with new companions, hoping her travels will reveal the truth about her lost past and the mysterious events that stole her memories.
