Interested in Being a Player?
The World of Greyhawk & The World of Greyhawk Wiki
The current year for our World of Greyhawk campaign is set during 579CY.
Inspired By Gary Gygax

It's "very" important that you get familiar with this campaign blog "there will be a test later" . . . nah, just kidding on the test part lol, but trust me when I say, this blog was created for you, the player . . . so make use of it. This page is a "must read" page so, grab snack and have a seat and read this all the way through please. This will be my first Old-School Essentials Advanced Fantasy system that I've ever ran "since for pretty much my entire gaming life, I've ran Advanced Dungeons & Dragons exclusively" years ago. I will try and do my best to give my players a fun game.

I've ran games around the table in years past, I've never had anyone complain so I guess I must be decent but this time I'll be doing an online campaign using Discord/Roll20 so I'll have to work extra hard to make this thing fun for my players.

▶ This campaign will be locally recorded & uploaded to a Youtube playlist
▶ We will use Discord for Audio and video (webcams)
▶ We are planning to play every Saturday night 7-10pm EST
▶ We may be able to squeeze in the Friday before at times (players discretion)

▶ You can see the header of this blog with the 5 empty slots. I will be adding portraits for each players character "strictly for aesthetic purposes for the blog". These portraits will be created using an AI script ap that I have, you can either create the portrait or I can do it for you. It doesn't even have to be what your character looks like, as I said it is "strictly for aesthetic purposes for the blog" to help make the campaign blog look a little more appealing for people who visit it. We will discuss this if you join the group, it really is not a major thing, it's actually quite simple to do.

House Rules: We do have a few "quality of life" house rules to help make the game run a little smoother and be slightly more forgiving than it is in it's current form. These rules may change over time.
About Our Campaign: Here you can read all about our World of Greyhawk campaign.
Journals Page: This is where my players can find everything they need to know about our campaign.
• Check out the class page to see what is available to play.

▶ We are looking for mature adults as players.
▶ I do not fudge on dice rolls, whatever gets rolled, is rolled.
▶ We are not looking for rules lawyers that will debate every rule the DM says.
▶ Mistakes will be made by players and the DM, deal with it.
▶ We want friendly, chill players that simply want to have a fun night of gaming.

• You can reach me on Discord by sending me a friend request to the name RPGrandPa.
Facebook: This Facebook group is mainly for my Youtube channel but can also be used for this campaign as well.
• Email: If all else fails, my email is jamesefullard@gmail.com

This campaign will take place online using Roll20/Discord - so, Roll20 will be used for character sheets, dice roles, and maps. Discord will used for our voice audio/video. We "will" be using Webcams for the overlay so what this means is all members must have a stable internet connection and quality webcams as well as microphones for audio. One thing I tend to preach on is when we are playing each player is required to make sure they don't have any background noise bleeding through the microphones. This campaign will be recorded and uplaoded to Youtube for others to watch so we have to have everything on point.

Our schedule will be every other Saturday night from 7-10pm EST and occasionally we can slip in the Friday before, I will need players to stick to the schedule because with us playing every other weekend, if we miss a session, that puts us not playing for a month. If we have a cancelation of just one player, I will cancel that nights game . . . "one thing I always hated when I watched liveplays in the past is for a game night not have players show up but they run the game that night anyways" it just takes away from the viewing experiences for our viewers so please, once you agree to a schedule try to be at each session.

I understand we will have times someone needs to cancel "which will shut that nights game down" it happens and I understand that, hell, I may have to cancel one night so we will deal with those when they happen but if we do have to cancel a Saturday, maybe we can slide in the Friday before to replace the loss of that Saturday. This campaign will be ran using my own version of a modified Old-School Essentials system. We will be using the class based system "meaning races can be classes also". We have plenty of classes for players to choose from on our class page.

I plan to run a very relaxed, very friendly game for my players. I am 59 years "young" and love gaming. I have always said, if someone can't get along with me then it is them that has the problem, you won't find a more friendly Dungeon Master than me. If you're looking for a friendly atmosphere, friendly down to earth players and a Dungeon Master that tries very hard to give his players something special, I would love to hear from you.

One last thing . . . everything about this group/game is based off of "eastern standard time", so any time a time is given it will be in EST. We prefer to bring in players from the USA with similar time zones as ours, it just makes things easier to schedule play times/dates but if you are not from the US and can manage the times/dates we set up to play on then that is fine.

Important: Don't just blindly ask to join us, take the time to really go through the campaign blog, go through the links provided on this page. It's important that you understand exactly what this campaign involves, what rules we use, what house rules use and everything else. If you don't bother reading about this campaign and just go straight into asking blind questions that are either "already" answered here or somewhere else on the blog, you're going to get denied . . . just saying. Everything on this campaign blog was put here "for you" to use so please make use of it.

Rules
Other Games During Game Time: Look, be respectful and while we are playing D&D, don't have World of Warcraft pulled up in the background etc. etc. Either you want to play in our campaign or you don't. Just be respectful please, your DM puts in a lot of hard work to try and give his players a good solid game.
Be Mature: We are all adults, please ... let us all act like adults when we play.
Real Life Stuff: We don't bring "anything political from the real world" to our table, we basically don't bring anything from the real world into our games.
Pronouns: We don't do the pronoun silliness. When we sit down at the table, it's about the "game" and nothing else.

▶ Make sure you as a player understand this "entire" page before requesting to join this group.

Uth'Natha Inn
The World of Greyhawk & The World of Greyhawk Wiki
The current year for our World of Greyhawk campaign is set during 579CY.
Inspired By Gary Gygax

The Uth'Natha Inn is a two-floored inn, which has a variety of services of drow custom. The inn is open to the public, drow and non drow alike and is one of the more hospitable inns in Orthae Qu'lith that is open to anyone who wishes to visit and possibly rent a room for the night.

The inside of the ground floor is illuminated by green fungus that grows throughout the inn itself. It gives off a dull green glow which allows those without infravision to see normally while not hurting the eyes of drow.

The tavern has two floors. The first floor features two arenas which patrons could participate in combat. The winners got to keep the spoils of the duel, and may be rewarded with gold, depending on what was bet for that match. The same floor has a bar, with many tables and chairs, where customers can share stories of their lives, gossip and enjoy a well prepared meal.

Two arenas are present in the tavern. One is for fighting captured creatures (such as umber hulks and such), owned by Sorzdrin "his last name is unknown to outsiders", the owner of the inn, the other for duels between drow and even non drow. The second arena features battles between the same classes: "melee classes only". The bar serves drow beverages, Orbbz'hin, Kulg and Streea. They also sell surface beverages, such as bitter black ale and mead, but were incredibly expensive, most over ten times the cost of the normal drinks.

The back of the main floor holds a several lust chambers, for acts such as oil massages, and those that are more intimate. A large cage keeps a few drow prisoners, such as those who might have recently fallen out of favor of Lolth. A drow female watches over the cages. The other area of interest is a contraption that will transport a slave or enemy to a passageway far away from the city. People have been known to just mysteriously disappear and never be seen again.

Some drow spend a large amount of time in the tavern, either for work or leisure: it is a very popular locale within Orthae Qu'lith for drow as well as non drow.

We Focus on TTRPG's Here
The World of Greyhawk & The World of Greyhawk Wiki
The current year for our World of Greyhawk campaign is set during 579CY.
Inspired By Gary Gygax

As far as real world issues goes, we've never had to address these issues here and for that I am extremely thankful. We are not anything special here, just a group of gamers trying to have a good time and I think we've grown quite a bit which makes me happy. I hope that we can continue to grow and expand as time goes on!

However there is a lot of turmoil going on in the outside world and I want to make something clear here.

We will not discuss matters of justice and equality here. We (and I, specifically) believe firmly that heroes of high fantasy settings would have never looked at anyone or anything and wondered . . . what do they identify as, are they gay or straight, what race, color or sex a person is/was, no, they wouldn't because it never would have came up and it will not come up on this blog or within my games. None of that matters here because we are all adults here and we treat people like adults.

We don't care about any of that silliness here, this is a Dungeons & Dragons campaign blog . . . it does not matter who you are, what you believe in, what color you are, what sex you are or were, none of that matters here and it will not be discussed here, so keep it to yourself.

If you feel the need to push any of that in peoples faces where this campaign is concerned then please go somewhere else, we are here to play tabletop games and nothing that happens in the real world matters here. You won't find people yelling at the world about what pronouns they are, or if they identify as a lamp shade in this group. We are not for it or against it - we simply don't care. This is a GAMING BLOG covering a Dungeons & Dragons setting and the story that it holds. No one here cares about any of the above mentioned things, keep it to yourself and let us focus on the adventuers that happen here.

If you disagree with this, feel free to leave this place and never come back. I hope you take the time to reflect on your beliefs and understand that what you believe in, should be none of anyone elses business, and people will not be forced to address you by your silly pronoun - keep it to yourself. Once again, this is a Dungeons & Dragons campaign blog and that is all that should matter to anyone who visits this website.

People that sit around our real world or virtual table are all grown ass adults and we don't give a damn about your pronouns or your real world politics. Now, with all that silliness out of the way, we hope you enjoy your visit here and please feel free to say hello in our comments section. We would love to meet you.

Bazaar
The World of Greyhawk & The World of Greyhawk Wiki
The current year for our World of Greyhawk campaign is set during 579CY.
Inspired By Gary Gygax

The Bazaar is the permanent market of Orthae Qu'lith located in the merchant district. Some considered the Bazaar the heart of Orthae Qu'lith. The Bazaar of Orthae Qu'lith attracts merchants and buyers from across the Underdark as well as the surface. Most races were welcome, not all but most, and as long as the peace was kept and proper respect was shown to matron mothers, someone can buy whatever they might desire here.

Many surface-dwelling merchants and trade goods pass through and some even remain in Orthae Qu'lith. All people of Orthae Qu'lith shop at the Bazaar, even some matron mothers at times. In the Bazaar one will find cobblers, riding lizards, duergar, kuo-toa, and ogre mages. Slaves included orcs, gnolls, bugbears, goblins, and kobolds. There is also at least one barber stall, a game tent, and a portrait painter. One can obtain surgery or send messages to the surface from the Bazaar. There are also performers on its busy streets. The Bazaar smells of surface produce, mulled wine, leather, frying oil, rothe dung, and blood.

No "new" permanent structures are allowed within the accepted limits of the Bazaar by order of the council. Places of business are to move at least every 66 days, so as to prevent monopolies on space and promote browsing, often making finding a particular stall very difficult. Trainee wizards, clerics, and warriors, in groups of 8-12 from their respected schools, patrolled the Bazaar, providing firm, yet unobtrusive law enforcement. Prices are always fluctuating due to supply and demand. Despite (or perhaps because of) the patrols, the Bazaar is home to many unlicensed and illicit activities.

This district is the market/bazaar of noble drow elves. Most everything sold here is far above the price range of the common folk. Many exotic and hard to obtain items are sold here including "some" magical items and spells. This district is for drow alone, outsiders and non drow are not permitted in this district.

Fane of Lolth
The World of Greyhawk & The World of Greyhawk Wiki
The current year for our World of Greyhawk campaign is set during 579CY.
Inspired By Gary Gygax

The Fane of Lolth is a underground temple, set into the side of the cavern wall far above the cavern floor dedicated to the Queen of Spiders located in the southeastern section of Orthae Qu'lith. It can be found deep within the walls of the Underchasm, known as the Edge of the Underdark, the passageways and caves that are situated above the Eastdark.

The temple is comprised of a stone-floored hall with a vaulted ceiling, branching off from drow-dug tunnels and subterranean outposts. On either side of the temple's walls are a series of stone statues that each depict the likeness of a drow priestess carrying a staff in one hand, as her other was set forward as if to receive an item. Six lit braziers were set between the statues, five of which held blue flames while the sixth contained natural, orange-red fire. The entire main chamber of the temple is usually always lit with candles "forcing drow to revert to normal vision".

At the head of the temple is a massive shrine that is comprised of dark metal and stone construction with a massive black obsidian spider hovering overhead as if hanging from spider webs. The shrine is set within an ominous-looking piece of drow metalwork, set in dark obsidian with a ritualistic stained glass window set in the back adorned with engravings and gems of violet hue.

The temple is a place of worship where drow can properly pay tribute to the Spider-Queen Lolth. It also houses at least one history book that outlines the ancient history of the Drow religion of the goddess Lolth.

Inspired By Gary Gygax
Elstearn's Escorts is a hireling agency located on the north side of the city, in the West Wall neighborhood of Orthae Qu'lith. Alton offers the unrestricted services of smart, neat, charming, and attractive drow of either gender to its clientele.

While most clients hire the escorts for simple, carnal pleasures, the business has a surprisingly expansive pool of hirelings with skill sets beyond these services, such as articulate and charismatic escorts for social functions, guides and interpreters for visitors to the city, and capable bodyguards who could escort clients in dangerous areas of Orthae Qu'lith and even on quick excursions into the tunnels just outside the city. The owner of this establishment is a well-to-do Drow known as Veldrin Coberel.

The Commons

The current year for our World of Greyhawk campaign is set during 579CY.
Inspired By Gary Gygax
The Commons, also known as Manyfolk, is a district in the drow city of Orthae Qu'lith. The Commons district surrounds the Bazaar and the Undercity "located in a deep dark chasm in the center of the city", a huge chasm in the center of the city. Its narrow streets are filled with shops and three-story tallhouses carved from stalagmites. Patrols deter most open crime.

The Commons is known for being the most colorful, diverse, and tolerant district of the city. It is home to many merchants and family houses (both noble and commoner). Nearly all drow commoners in Orthae Qu'lith live in or originated in the Commons. Many noble houses "and some common houses" maintain secondary (often secret) houses in this district. Many non-drow live in this district and are generally treated peaceably by all but noble-born drow, but they are not allowed to openly worship any deity but Lolth here.

Drow living in the neighboring district of North Wall, which has few (if any) shops, preferred to shop in the Commons.

The Dancing Dwarf
The World of Greyhawk & The World of Greyhawk Wiki
The current year for our World of Greyhawk campaign is set during 579CY.
Inspired By Gary Gygax

The Dancing Dwarf is a large, comfortable inn in the Commons district of the city of Orthae Qu'lith. Outside the inn, hanging over the entrance, is a square wooden sign that shows a buxom and smiling female dwarf holding a flagon of beer. The Dancing Dwarf, is a place renowned for its good food and excellent drink in Orthae Qu'lith! Passing merchants make a point of stopping, as do many other sorts of wayfarers and traders, and it is said that the place is always filled with patrons "of all races surprisingly".

The Dancing Dwarf is owned by Toblen Stoneheim. He is polite and smiles often to customers, but one can tell he does not tolerate visitors who do not respect the taverns rules. He is friendly enough "for the most part" and is always welcoming to those entering his establishment.

Toblen came from the surface seeking adventure beneath the surface, hearing tales of money to be made in the Underdark. He soon found that he knew more about running an inn than mining, and so he established the inn in the city of Orthae Qu'lith.

The Dancing Dwarf is a nondescript everyday Inn one might find in any mid-sized town or village within Nentir Vale - actually it is rather large for the small settlement of Phandalin. The main floor in the inn consists mostly of open area filled with small round tables with chairs and a half circle bar located along the left side on the main floor as you enter the establishment. Bar stools have been placed at the bar itself. The inn is clean and very well maintained, you can tell Toblen takes great pride in his business. During most times during business hours, you will see several young females waiting tables with Toblen and his wife either behind the bar or out amongst the customers making small talk.

Prices at the Dancing Dwarf are a little higher than usual because it is the only "public and non drow" inn in the city. Choice venison, mutton, poached salmon, trout stuffed with specially prepared mixtures, goose roasted to a golden brown, pork, steaming sausages, steak and kidney pie with mushrooms or truffles, squab stuffed pheasant and boiled crayfish in drawn butter "are imported from the surface" are just a few of the delights which are served here.

Visitors of Orthae Qu'lith, from traders to slavers, enjoy relaxing in the common room, which has become a good place to hear local gossip and stories. The inn is kept neat and clean, and is a generally pleasant place to visit.

The inn provides twelve rentable rooms on the upper floor, plus alcoholic beverages and food. A bed is one gold per night, and prices are fairly standard for food, ale, and cider, with meals coming to various low prices. The bar is usually manned during business hours by someone. Toblen arrived in Orthae Qu'lith from the surface early in his life, and founded the inn not long after he arrived. With the Drow, he knew life would be hard until he got himself established, which he did over time and now he is making a solid living.

Business continues more-or-less as usual each day with few changes and/or surprises. The inn playes host to important visitors from the surface, especially those whom he buys his meats from. The inn's common room has also became a gathering place for quite a few drow elves. Toblen was unsure how this would work out in the beginning but now it is just an everyday thing.

As of now, the inn remaines prosperous and largely unchanged. However, at a point approximately year ago, Toblen fell on hard times trying to keep the establishment running "with the city being a war with a neighboring drow city" but things have sense turned around for the inn and Toblen. Toblen is very happy with how things have worked out for him and he does not see a return to the surface in his future. Money is good here, he has made a good name for himself within the city and gets plenty of customers.

Meals are served on pottery or pewter or copper services according to the customers order. Various leather jacks, pottery mugs, wooden tankards, pewter steins, glass flagons, crystal goblets, or silver chalices are used for the beverages.

The ale and beer is supplemented by brews from other places outside the city, and wine, mead and brandy from all over the realms make their way to the boards of the Dancing Dwarf.

The Grove
The World of Greyhawk & The World of Greyhawk Wiki

Inspired By Gary Gygax
The Grove is the name for the district in the drow city of Orthae Qu'lith that surrounds Dark Lake. The district of The Grove is located at the easternmost side of the cavern housing the city. The land is sparsely populated (but not by drow at all) and called the "granary of Orthae Qu'lith" because it produces much of the cities produce.

It is filled with two moss beds, giant mushrooms, fungi farms, and irrigated dungbeds. The moss bed on the island feeds the herd, while the moss bed on the shore grows delicacies for consumption. Also on the shore were separate pens used for breeding rothé and housing more exotic beasts, such as mountain sheep from the surface. This area of the cavern always tends to be damp.

On the Isle of Rothé, orcs and goblins kept watch over herds of deep rothé. Inside the lake, goblins hunt fish and eels on rafts that are steered by poles. Carrion crawlers and cave fishers can be found near the moss beds on the shore of the lake.

Tier Breche
The World of Greyhawk & The World of Greyhawk Wiki
The current year for our World of Greyhawk campaign is set during 579CY.
Inspired By Gary Gygax

Tier Breche is the academy district where all of the various academies are located. Tier Breche is located in a multi-sectioned cavern housing the various academies of Orthae Qu'lith, which consists of Fane of Lolth (the clerical school), Sorcere (the wizarding school), and Melee Academy (the fighters' school).

Tier Breche is technically the name of the cavern where the various schools and training centers are located, but in common usage "Tier Breche" often referrs to the Academy itself. Tier Breche is a large side cavern off the main city cavern and consists of the highest point in the city of Orthae Qu'lith.

Additionally, two large spider statues can be animated to protect the Academy. It houses the three school complexes, which are carved from stalagmites and rock. The Melee Academy, shaped like a pyramid, is located in the east. Sorcere, a many-spired tower, is located near the western wall. Arach-Tinilith, a spider-shaped complex and the largest of the three schools, both in terms of physical and numerical size, is located at the west of the cavern. A large staircase connects Tier Breche with the main city cavern. Two sentries, generally former students of Melee-Magthere, stand guard at the twin pillars.

There are magical wards around Tier Breche that are designed to keep out unfriendly spirits; when breached, the wards sound a loud alarm. Additionally, two large spider statues can be animated to protect the Academy. There is a tunnel to Tier Breche that gives access from outside the city. Once through the tunnel, a cavern opens up "much like a common area" that has three different exits that goes to each academy.

Generally, students who enter one of the schools in Tier Breche were not allowed to leave until that individuals training is completed.

The Dark Domain referred to the tunnels within a 5 mile radius of Orthae Qu'lith. Drow patrols are a constant presence in the region, searching for banned creatures, monsters and surface elves and challenging them once spotted. A few guard outposts can also be found in these tunnels. At least ten of the tunnels that started here lead to the surface, including one that leads straight past enemy cities and strongholds and another that lead into the Dim Forest on the surface.

Ugulur Veldrin, "Lower Shadows" is located at the far end of the southern section of the city. This section of the city is where one might find the more shadier individuals and organizations. Most thieves guilds as well as some of the more "known" mercenary guilds operate out of the district, one such organization being Eldreth Nierdre, the most well known, well organized organizations one will find in the city.

Ugulur Veldrin's houses are full of escaped or disposed of slaves of many races especially orcs and goblinoids. These are often termed "undercreatures". Inhabitants often live twenty to thirty per room, doing their business with no privacy whatsoever.

A common sport for nobles is a Hunt through the Ugulur Veldrin, in which nobles kill any undercreatures they see. During this time, anybody on the street is denied entry for fear of risking the occupants of a building. Trophies from the Hunt often include teeth, ears, and heads of the inhabitants, including drow. The chaotic nature of this district makes it perfect for those who wish to operate without prying eyes always upon them.

Alignment: We will be using the nine alignments from AD&D 1st edition located here.

Level One Hit Points: We give all level 1 characters max hitpoints. This is done "only" for level One. This gives the characters a fighting chance, especially the Wizard who could easily have 1-2 hit points. Yea I know, it is babying them at level 1. We try to make sure our players have a good time and not worry about tripping and taking lethal damage from a pebble. From level Two and higher, hit points are rolled normal.

Clerics & Level One Spells: With Old-School Essentials, Clerics do not start out with an opening spell at level One which I find a bit harsh so we have house ruled in that Clerics will gain one level 1 spell at first level. Level two and beyond the Cleric follows the spell chart as it is written.

Playable Classes: A complete list of classes that we use are found here.

Death & Unconsciousness: We use the official rule in AD&D 1st edition that says—a character becomes unconscious at 0 hit points (HP) and begins to die, losing 1 HP per round if left unassisted. Death occurs when hit points reach -10. If a character takes enough damage that takes him to -10 hit points or below, he/she is just dead. Our house rule we've added for recovery is, if a character is brought back to consciousness using non magical healing, that character requires one week of bedrest for recovery but if that character is brought back to consciousness using magical healing, that character needs to rest for eight uninterrupted hours before returning to full health.

Wizard Starting Spellbook: The way we handle a Wizard's starting spellbook is, the player chooses one spell (any spell) from the 1st level list of Magic-User spells in the 1st edition Players Handbook as the starting spell for that character. The DM "gifts" the following spells to add to the starting spellbook—Write, Detect Magic & Identify which gives a new starting Wizard four spells to start with.

Elves Resistances: In our race/class system that we use, the AD&D rule is not included, so this will simply be a house rule for us. Elves, Drow and Moon Drow have a 90% resistance to spells/abilities that charm or unnaturally cause sleep. Half-Elves & Sylvan Elves have a 30% resistance to spells/abilities that charm or unnaturally cause sleep.

Elves & Resting: Elves, Drow, Moon Drow & Sylvan Elves do not need to sleep in the traditional sense. Instead, they engage in a meditative state called a "trance" for four hours, which provides them with the same benefits as eight hours of sleep for other races. While they can technically sleep if they choose, they rarely do, and it wouldn't provide them with the same restorative effects as their trance. Half-Elves however do require sleep.

Detect Magic Skill: The "Wizard & Sorcerer class" can detect magic on an item by concentrating for 1 full turn. This procedure is repeatable.

Identify Skill: The "Wizard & Sorcerer class" can identify a magical object by studying it for 3 full hours. They then have a 3-in-6 chance of successfully determining its effects. This procedure is repeatable.

Disadvantage/Advantage: If you have Advantage on a D20 check (DC), roll two d20s, and use the higher roll. If you have Disadvantage on a D20 check (DC), roll two d20s, and use the lower roll.

About Our Game Rules
The World of Greyhawk & The World of Greyhawk Wiki
The current year for our World of Greyhawk campaign is set during 579CY.
Inspired By Gary Gygax

I wanted to write up an article describing the game rules we will be using. We are using a "modified" Old-School Essentials system. Basically we are using Old-School Essentials Advanced Fantasy with "some" house rules" and some "slight" adjustments to the classes to bring them up to scale with 1st edition since most of the adventures I plan to run are from 1st edition anyways.

We are going with the old school class system, not the race/class system from 1st edition, basically the same as what is in the Old-School Essentials books but with a lot more choices to choose from since classes were pulled from other sources like the Carcass Crawler zine.

All magical items that are used in our games will come directly from the Old-School Essentials core books. All playable classes will have levels caps kept in place as they are listed in the books. All spells used in our campaigns will come straight out of the Old-School Essentials core books. I just found it exhausting to keep up with all the rules in 1st edition and you don't realize just how unorganized those rules are until you read the Old-School Essentials books. The reasoning behind me using this modified version of B/X classes is because for some reason, I seriously love the old style gameplay & I also wanted to expand on the core playable classes.

Old-School Essentials classes are not anywhere near as powerful as new edition classes, even AD&D classes so players can't simply have characters charge in and run through all the enemies that they face. It's a mix and match of materials that we use, but it is very easy to understand and gives players a classic feel to the type of gameplay they will experience.

The goal is to keep the core of our system Old-School Essentials Advanced Fantasy but with a few 1st edition house rules and some slight adjustments to the class sheets. As I said earlier, the bulk of our rules will be straight from the Old-School Essentials books but we do have a few minor adjustments that we made. I am sure we will encounter bugs that will need to be ironed out and fixed but overall I think I have it pretty well hammered out. I want to run my games as classic as I can but give my players a little more expansive style of play at the same time.
